Activities
There are a number of activities that can be done to explore the beauty of our premises and surrounding areas across Zanzibar. Have a look at the examples below or ask us for any recommendations – we will be happy to help.
Access to the beach
Depending on the moon and the daily tides, you can access the beach in front of the hotel from the deck area. Take a leisurely stroll along the beach or join the local women and children as they search the shallows of the reef for small fish and octopus. Remember to bring your beach shoes with you.
Snorkelling
The Nungwi peninsula boasts magnificent diving and snorkelling sites, most notably the famed Mnemba Atoll. A full day trip on a traditional dhow will take you there for an extensive forage into the tropical underwater world, swimming and sunbathing.
Swim with the dolphins (although their presence can’t be guaranteed) or go to a spot for fishing and catch your own lunch.
Sunset Cruise
Sailing on a traditional Swahili dhow is a great experience in itself. Add the sunset, the gentle breeze, and the peace and calm out there in our azure waters… and it turns into an unforgettable holiday memory!
Kite Surfing
From December to March you can enjoy the thrill of kitesurfing in front of the hotel.
Kayaking
Paddling along the coastline in a kayak is a relaxing and fun way to explore your surroundings. There are double and single kayaks available; life jackets can be provided.
Game Fishing
The waters around the North of Zanzibar are teeming with marine life. If you feel like catching your own dinner, we offer both full day (8h) and half day (4h) deep sea fishing trips. Our boat carries a maximum of five passengers plus crew.
Fish caught by guests have included king fish, sail fish, blue marlin and yellow fin tuna.
Scuba Diving
There are no diving facilities at Mnarani itself, but we work closely with a reputable certified dive center in the vicinity. We are more than happy to assist you with booking your dives or PADI courses.
Sailing
If you are an experienced Hobie Cat 16 captain, you are welcome to hire our boat. If it’s your first time, one of our experienced staff can take you sailing to enjoy the breeze along the coast. Please note the sailing will depend on the sea conditions.
Tours and Excursions
Zanzibar has many popular activities and tours: swimming with dolphins, Jozani Forest National Park, Stone Town tour, Nungwi Village tour to name a few. We will happily arrange these for you – ask more at out Tours and Excursions Desk located near the bar.
