Pemba Eco Lodge
Pemba Eco Lodge: Where Nature Meets Serenity
Nestled on the untouched Shamiani (Kiweni) Island, off the coast of Pemba, Pemba Eco-Lodge offers travelers a rare chance to experience nature in its purest form. Surrounded by crystal-clear waters, powdery white sands, and lush tropical vegetation, the lodge is more than just a place to stay it is a sanctuary for peace, discovery, and authentic island life. Highlighted in the Bradt Travel Guide as one of East Africa’s most exciting eco-destinations, it has been welcoming guests since September 2010.
The vision for Pemba Eco-Lodge came from Nassor, a Pemba native whose journeys around the world exposed him to diverse tourism concepts. His first hotel, Mnarani Beach Cottages on Nungwi, Unguja Island, matured over two decades into one of the most successful locally owned hotels on the archipelago. Building on this foundation, Nassor returned to his homeland of Pemba to create an eco lodge that blends international standards with responsible tourism, protecting both the island’s natural beauty and its cultural heritage.
